Video: More Clinton Email Spin

This week, CNN’s Jake Tapper reviews Hillary Clinton’s oft-repeated claim that using a private email account and server while secretary of state was “absolutely permitted.”

As we have written before, federal regulations did allow Clinton to send and receive emails outside the government system as long as those emails were preserved before she was out of office. But it wasn’t until 21 months after Clinton was no longer secretary that she gave the State Department emails from her private server.

In addition, a federal records expert said that her decision to exclusively use a private server to conduct government business was “inconsistent with long-established policies and practices … governing all federal agencies.”

This fact-checking video is the latest from our collaboration with Tapper and CNN’s “State of the Union.” The video is based on our May 11 article “Clinton Still Spinning Emails.”
